Filmé lors des deux concerts à guichets fermés qui ont inauguré l’ouverture du Chase Center – la nouvelle arène de 18 064 places de San Francisco – S&M² capture plus de deux heures et demie de James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett et Robert Trujillo joignant leurs forces à celles de l’Orchestre symphonique de San Francisco, fort de près de 80 musiciens, avec une apparition spéciale du légendaire chef d’orchestre Michael Tilson Thomas.
